7/13 - County Officials to Review New Construction: Montgomery County has directed the Office of Legislative Oversight to investigate possible violations of height restrictions in Clarksburg.

7/3/05 - Clarksburg planning process to be investigated: Were there irregularities in the planning of new developments in Clarksburg? According to The Washington Post, "Officials announced that an outside investigator will be hired to review the county's procedures for approving subdivision plans. A planning department report recommends the developer and builders be fined about $1.2 million. Residents want a much stiffer penalty."

6/30/05 - New upcounty firestations are top priority for rescue services: Montgomery County fire and rescue officials are requesting additional fire stations and equipment for rapidly growing upcounty areas like Clarksburg. "They needed to be there yesterday," said County Council member Michael Knapp (D-Upcounty) about the new firestations, "We got to get them done as soon as we can." According to The Washington Post, "The council also is working to quickly set up an interim station in Clarksburg until a permanent station can be constructed by fiscal year 2009. Officials also are planning for a new station in the Shady Grove area."

A new site for Clarksburg residents and visitors was launched on June 15, 2005. This site provides information about shopping, recreation, services, restaurants, community forums and job opportunities in Clarksburg, Maryland.


June 4, 2005 was Clarksburg Day!

Saturday, June 4, 2005 was the second Annual Clarksburg Day festival. with free trolley service between sites with costumed tour guides.
