About the Clarksburg Civic Association
(CCA)
For decades the Clarksburg Civic Association has provided a non-partisan
forum where all its citizens can meet, discuss, study, and act on issues
that affect the community.
The CCA covers issues that extend far beyond what a homeowner's association
covers. It is involved with regional planning issues including commercial
and residential development, schools, parks, and transportation. It has
an active role working with public officials from the County Council and
County Executive, all the way to the State House in Annapolis.
It also serves as a means for people in different parts of the community to
learn more about their town and its history, to meet neighbors, and to work
and live together as a community.
WHAT DOES THE CCA DO?
The CCA was active in helping to craft the Clarksburg Master Plan, and
serves as an influential means for public review and comment on all developments
that may affect this plan. For example, the CCA has been active in a proposed
air park, a proposed landfill, and in the definition of the new town center.
Every year the CCA has a Holiday Baskets drive for local needy families.
In 2002 the CCA organized events to commemorate the founding of this community
250 years before.
HOW DO I JOIN?
If you live in or own property or a business in the 20871 ZIP code, or
